Policy & Outreach Director Beth Glenn was one of three panelists who discussed educational equity before the National School Boards Association's Council of Urban Boards of Education on Saturday, January 31. Glenn's presentation described the education debt facing our nation, gave an overview of the federal role in repaying that debt and offered ways that the 150 state and local leaders in attendance could make strides for equity as well. The session also included discussions of the Forum's Will We Really campaign, the National Alliance of Black School Educators' "Education is a Civil Right" initiative and efforts by the Insitute for Language and Education Policy to level the field for English language learners.
